JAKARTA (18/3) - In line with traffic regulations on toll and non-toll roads during the Eid Al-Fitr 2024/1445 H holiday, the Ministry of Transportation together with Korlantas Polri and the Ministry of PUPR also regulates the movement of transport of people and goods at crossing ports, in particular at four main crossing ports, namely Merak, Bakauheni, Ketapang and Gilimanuk Ports.
"It is predicted that in the ferry sector there will also be an increase in vehicle volume, therefore regulations are needed. Especially at the main ports such as Merak, Bakauheni, Ketapang and Gilimanuk Ports," said Director General of Land Transportation, Hendro Sugiatno in Jakarta, Monday (18/ 3).
He further explained that there would be several relief ports that would be used to break up congestion and anticipate the accumulation of vehicles at one point.
The regulations regarding this crossing port have been contained in the Joint Decree (SKB) concerning Regulation of Road Traffic and Crossings During the Homecoming Flow and Return Flow of Eid Transport in 2024/1445 H which includes:
- Merak Port, Bakauheni Port, Ciwandan Port, BBJ Bojonegara Port (Serang-Banten) and BBJ Muara Pilu Port (South Lampung):
a) pedestrian passengers, motorized vehicles of class IVa, class IVb, class Va, class Vb and class VIa destined for Sumatra for traffic
going home starting Wednesday 3 April 2024 at 00.00 WIB until Tuesday 9 April 2024 at 24.00 WIB via Merak Harbor;
b) class I, II, III, VIb and class VI motorized vehicles bound for Sumatra for homecoming traffic from Wednesday 3 April 2024 at 00.00 WIB to Tuesday 9 April 2024 at 24.00 WIB via Ciwandan Port;
c) class VIII and class IX motorized vehicles bound for Sumatra for homecoming traffic starting Wednesday 3 April 2024 at 00.00 WIB until Tuesday 9 April 2024 at 24.00 WIB via BBJ Bojonegara (Serang-Banten);
d) pedestrian passengers, motorized vehicles of class I, II, III, IVa, IVb, Va, Vb, class VIa and class VIb bound for Java for reverse flow starting Friday 12 April 2024 at 00.00 WIB until Tuesday 16 April 2024 at 24.00 WIB via Bakauheni Port;
e) class VII, VIII and class IX motorized vehicles bound for Java for reverse flow from Friday 12 April 2024 at 00.00 WIB until Tuesday 16 April 2024 at 24.00 WIB will be diverted via BBJ Muara Pilu Port (South Lampung).
- Ketapang Harbor, Gilimanuk Harbor, Anchor Harbor and Selamat Harbor:
a) Ketapang - Gilimanuk Crossing:
starting Wednesday 3 April 2024 at 00.00 local time until Tuesday 16 April 2024 at 24.00 local time for motorized vehicles going through Ketapang Harbor or Gilimanuk Harbor, priority is given to motorbikes, passenger cars and buses, while for goods cars not be a priority;
b) Anchor Crossing Cross - Sheet:
motorized vehicles that will go through Anchor Harbor or Selamat Harbor are motorized vehicles with a maximum carrying capacity of 40 tonnes; And
c) Starting from Wednesday, April 3 2024 at 00.00 local time until Tuesday April 16 2024 at 24.00 local time, all logistics transport vehicles that will go through Ketapang Port will be directed to Bulusan Pier.
"There will also be travel delay arrangements (delaying system) and buffer zones at several crossing ports," he added.
Arrangements for travel delays and buffer zones to Merak Harbor and Ciwandan Harbor are carried out at Rest Areas KM 43 A and KM 68 A on the Tangerang - Merak Toll Road and PT land. Munic Line on the Cikuasa Atas road section.
"Then, Indah Kiat Harbor can also function as an emergency buffer zone towards Merak Harbor," said Director General Hendro.
Arrangements for travel delays and buffer zones to Bakauheni Ferry Harbor and Muara Pilu BBJ Harbor (South Lampung) are carried out at the Rest Areas KM 87 B, KM 67 B, KM 49 B, KM 33 B and KM 20 B on the Bakauheni - Terbanggi Besar Toll Road section , while on non-toll roads it is carried out at the Gayam Agribusiness Terminal, Gunung Jati Restaurant, Three Brothers Restaurant and the Old Office of the Agricultural Quarantine Center.
To avoid long queues, there will be restrictions on ticket purchases with a prohibition radius:
a) Merak port is 4.71 KM from the center point of the outermost port; And
b) Bakauheni port is 4.24 KM from the center point of the outermost port.
"At Ketapang and Gilimanuk ports, arrangements for postponing travel to Ketapang Port from the direction of Situbondo are carried out in the Grand Watudodol Rest Area on the Pantura Banyuwangi - Situbondo highway and to Ketapang Port from the direction of Jember are carried out in the Bulusan Pier parking lot," he said.
Gilimanuk Port destinations are at the Gilimanuk Cargo Terminal on the Denpasar - Gilimanuk highway and at the Gilimanuk Bus Terminal specifically for motorbikes.
To avoid long queues, there will be restrictions on ticket purchases with a prohibition radius:
1) Ketapang port is 2.65 KM from the center point of the outermost port; And
2) Gilimanuk port is 2.0 KM from the center point of the outermost port.
Meanwhile, arrangements for goods transport to Ketapang Port from the direction of Situbondo are at the Arema Football Field, Basring Village (Afdeling Sidomulyo/Kampe) or at the Sri Tanjung Terminal.
From the direction of Jember, the truck parking space is behind the Warung Ayu Pocket restaurant and the Bulusan Pier parking lot.
For destinations from/to Gilimanuk Harbor, the location is at the Cargo Terminal and UPPKB Cekik and destinations to Tanjung Wangi Harbor are directed to the parking space at Kampung Anyar, Ketapang Village.
"During the Eid transport period, the Motor Vehicle Weighing Implementation Unit (UPPKB) for the Provinces of North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Jambi, Lampung, Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java and Bali Province will temporarily switch functions as a rest area starting Wednesday "April 3 2024 at 00.00 local time until Thursday April 18 2024 at 24.00 local time," concluded Director General Hendro.
